Birley Community College is a secondary school and technology college in Birley, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The school is split into three levels, the topmost one being the religious studies and modern foreign languages block. The first floor being the mathematics and English blocks and the bottom being science, music, design technology, geography, history and ICT. The school contains a large learning resource centre equipped with modern technology such as interactive whiteboards and computer systems. Courses available at Birley are: maths, English, science (GNVQ, single, double & triple awards), graphics, wood-work, engineering, media studies, ICT (Diploma in Digital Applications (DiDA) GNVQ / European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Certificate), health & social care (GNVQ), art, music and modern foreign languages. At the start of the 2009/2010 school year, the school was taken over by new head Mr. Wood. He is also the head of the primary school. By 2011, the school was run by Mrs. Woodcock. By late 2012, Birley Community College was being run by Mr. Robinson acting as the head teacher. In the 2010 Ofsted school inspection, the school achieved an overall 'Good'. The construction of the new building finished in early January 2013. While most of the old building has been knocked down they are still using bits of it that are now connected to the new building.
